What a day yesterday was for the twins!! First friends, first outing with Dan, and first holiday!!!
After having hardly had time to get adjusted to life at home after their unloved days at the shoe store, it was time to go out into the real world (if you can consider Brad and Kelly’s place the real world). Here’s what getting ready looked like:
And by the way, all these getting ready to go out pictures were taken by The Fabulous Rachel, as seen here (shoe foreground, Rachel background):
And that is how the twins met their first friends!!
And then it was time for me and Rachel along with our shoes (hers are Clarks too!) to head into the wilds of San Francisco and make our way to Thanksgiving.
Now Brad and Kelly have one of those non-shoe wearing households which seemed like just the right opportunity for the twins to get a chance to hang out with their peers. But it seems like they are shy by nature so spent most of the afternoon hanging out with Rachel’s shoes off by themselves. Either that or everyone else’s shoes were throwin attitude and just wouldn’t come by to play. Kids today....
After much eating and drinking on the part of the humans attending (a delightful time was had by all), it was time for the shoes to get back on my feet and leave. And wouldn’t you know it, that was just when everyone was warming up to the twins and wanted to lavish attention on them.
At long last, the center of attention!!!!
Though I am a little worried at this point about the twins social skills, overall I think it was a success. I guess I can’t expect them to make tons of friends right away. After all, I’ve only had them since Tuesday afternoon. Oh, the trials of parenthood....
