Peace, Love and Kool-Aid

We got home from work exhausted from the train rides and photo session. But after all, it was Friday night and Brad & Kelly and Lori & Kent were meeting for drinks in Cole Valley before walking down to the Haight to see the Jonestown documentary. So even though I normally would have retired Dick and Jane and switched to other shoes, Jane and Dick had never met Lori and Kent, and hadn’t seen Brad and Kelly in ages. And they might as well learn about Jim Jones.

It was the twins first time in a bar. While I generally have a good time in bars, the twins said it wasn’t such a great place for scoping out other shoes. But at least it wasn’t so crowded that they were stomped on. And that’s were they got to meet Lori and Kent. At first Dick and Jane thought they were nice, but now they’re undecided. After they found out that Lori and Kent had spotted us on the J-Church on the way over when we hadn’t seen them, and they didn’t say anything. They just ignored us.

“Who are these attitude queens you’re hanging out with these days” the twins both said to me.

“Give them another chance” I said. “Maybe they were stoned”.

Kelly and Brad were as fabulous as usual. Dick did ask me though if Brad actually owns any socks. Excellent question.

And the movie was loved by all. Very intense. Worth checking out.

“That’s what happens when you mix peace and love with JESUS” says Jane.

“Word” says Dick.
